New Water Sources and Infrastructure

Description

The purpose of this working group is to analyze and promote public policies, laws, regulations and instructions that regulate, promote and encourage, in an orderly and efficient manner, the use of new water sources and the construction of the necessary infrastructure for the adequate use of water resources.

To this end, this working group focuses on studying, from a legal perspective, issues such as the use of seawater and construction and operation of desalination plants, artificial recharge of aquifers, reuse of treated sewage, reuse and recirculation of water, basin transfer projects, construction of new reservoirs or dams, and the use of rainwater, among other matters.

Proposed projects

  • Organization of conferences, lectures and courses on these subjects
  • Participate in national and international events on these topics
  • Presenting itself before the different branches of government as an authoritative voice on legal matters related to new water sources and water infrastructure
  • Identify similar national and international associations with which alliances can be formed to better achieve the objectives of this roundtable
  • Analyze existing public policies and regulations to propose improvements that will motivate the development of new sources and infrastructure
