The Association is an independent entity

The Chilean Association of Water Law (AChDA) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization whose purpose is the study and discussion of the regulations governing water resources in Chile in its various dimensions, i.e. as a component of the environment, as a basic element of subsistence of people and as a productive input and source of energy. This association was created in July 2021 by a group of 23 lawyers specialized in the subject, coming from academia, public services and the private world, and seeks to be a forum open to other specialists who wish to join and contribute with their experience to the constant challenges posed by the use of the resource.

Mission

To fulfill its purpose, the ACHDA will focus on and promote research and studies in this discipline, will promote knowledge and implementation of proposals that contribute to the advancement of water regulations, including its institutions.

Goals

AChDA's mission is to promote discussion, research, and knowledge of the legal discipline of water law in order to contribute to the advancement of water regulation, including its institutions. To this end, the Association will direct its activities, among others, to the following areas of action:

To create a network of professional lawyers who are experts in water law and its regulation;

To constitute an open, transversal, free and independent forum for discussion;

To disseminate and promote information related to water law and regulation;

To conduct legal research, dogmatic developments and publications on water regulation;

To serve as an instance between public and private entities to promote discussion on water and its regulation and contribute to improve its regulatory framework.
